Join me for a 3 hour photography walk through one or two carefully chosen neighbourhoods based on your choice, exploring the city through local eyes. This isn't a photography workshop or guided lesson. It's a relaxed photographer-to-photographer experience where we walk, shoot, and exchange ideas along the way.
We'll explore the streets, culture, architecture, and everyday moments that make Hong Kong unique. Whether you're visiting Hong Kong for the first time or have lived here for years, you'll discover places, stories, and perspectives that most people miss.

What happens if it rains?
Light rain won't stop us, in fact, it can create a unique, moody atmosphere that transforms how Hong Kong's neon lights reflect on wet streets. If light rain is forecast, I'll communicate with you in advance to discuss how it might enhance the experience and confirm you're comfortable proceeding.
However, in the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or typhoons, we will reschedule or offer a full refund.
Is this a workshop or a photo lesson?
No. This isn’t a formal workshop. It’s a relaxed, photographer‑to‑photographer walk where we shoot together, talk about ideas, and share perspectives. I’m happy to answer questions, but there’s no structured curriculum.
What level of photography experience do I need?
All levels are welcome. Whether you’re just starting out or have been shooting for years, the focus is on enjoying the city, making images, and having good conversation.
What kind of camera should I bring?
Anything you like: a smartphone, compact camera, film camera, or digital system. Whatever you’re comfortable shooting with is the right choice.
How do we choose the neighbourhoods?
You can pick from areas like Mong Kok, Yau Ma Tei, Sham Shui Po, or Central–Sai Ying Pun, or tell me what you’re interested in (night scenes, markets, alleys, harbour views, etc.) and I’ll suggest a route.
Will we stop for breaks?
Yes. This is meant to be enjoyable, not a march. We can pause for drinks, rest, or to look through photos and chat as we go.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, you do. Tahusa is not liable for any costs associated with injury or accidents during the time on the streets. Travel insurance protects you and gives you peace of mind as you explore Hong Kong's night streets.
Can my non-photographer partner or kids come along?
No, this is an intimate, focused experience designed for participants who are actively engaged in the meet up.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, cancellations are possible, but we do require advance notice. If you need to cancel for personal reasons, you must provide at least 5 working days' notice in advance. A 10% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund. For example, if you booked the US$539 workshop, your refund would be US$485 after the admin fee.
In the event of cancellation due to severe weather (as outlined above), a full refund with no deductions will be issued.
What should I bring?
Please bring a camera/photography device of your choice (DSLR, mirrorless, film, or smartphone), one or two lenses (a 35mm or 50mm prime lens is recommended if you have one), comfortable walking shoes, extra batteries, and memory cards or film. Dress appropriately for the weather and the streets, you'll be walking for 3 hours, so comfort is key.
