The protector ring is made from aluminum in silver or black anodized with a tight fit without locking mechanism. There is no clicking or position locking like the original Voigtlander hood.

It is designed to accommodate a UV or protective filter (B+W, Kenko Pro, Nisi) seamlessly and able to take the original Voigtlander 43mm front cap. It does not fit any circular CPL or Variable ND filters.
