Gear Chat — Real Talk About Cameras, Lenses & the Leica Life
Starting from US$45, with pricing depending on the session duration.
Got a gear question you’ve been going back and forth on? Let’s just talk it through. I’ll be your sounding board and share what I actually know.
Gear Chat is a one-on-one online session where you bring your camera questions and I bring years of hands-on experience shooting with film and digital rangefinders — Leica M, Leica Q, various film bodies, and the lenses that go with them. I'm not here to tell you what to buy. I'm here to share what I've actually used, what surprised me, what I'd do differently, and what the photos look like in real life.
Whether you're stuck on a gear decision, curious about switching systems, or just want to talk through something you've been overthinking, this is that conversation.

30 mins — Quick Troubleshoot · USD 45
Something's off with your Leica and you can't figure it out. Rangefinder patch not aligning? Shutter acting up? Film loading quirks? Bring the specific problem and we'll work through it together. Best for focused, single-issue questions about Leica M film or digital bodies.
60 mins — Upgrade & Acquisition Talk · USD 75
You're thinking about a new camera or lens, or you're deep in the rabbit hole and can't get out. We'll talk through your current kit, what you're actually trying to shoot, and whether the upgrade you're eyeing makes sense. I'll share my honest take on resale value, what the real-world differences feel like, and what I'd consider in your position.
90 mins — Full System Change · USD 95
You want to make a bigger move, maybe going from digital Leica to film, or building out a rangefinder system from scratch when you already have something else. We'll map out the whole picture: what to keep, what to sell, what to get first, and how to actually start shooting instead of just planning.
What I Bring to the Table
My experience is rooted in film and digital rangefinders. In these sessions I can walk you through real usage, show you photo samples from the field, talk through the buying and reselling landscape, and share the kind of user experience that doesn't show up in spec sheets.
This isn't advice. It's experience, shared directly, without the noise.

Testimonials
Reggie
Felt like grabbing coffee with a fellow camera nerd who’s actually tried all the weird combos I was considering. I left the call finally clear on what I actually need instead of just what YouTube tells me to want.
Thien
We went deep on Leica bodies and glass in a way my non‑camera friends would never tolerate. I closed the tab on my browser full of ‘maybe’ listings right after the chat — that alone was worth it.
Jeff. C
This was 90 minutes of pure gear therapy. We talked through my entire kit, my habits, and my dream setup, and I walked away with a simple, realistic plan instead of 20 open forum threads.
Virtual Meet Up FAQ
What should I prepare before the session?
Bring a rough idea of your current kit, what you like or don’t like about it, and your main question or dilemma. If you have sample photos, listings you’re considering, or a short list of options, keep those handy so we can dive straight in and make the most of the time.
Do you tell me exactly what to buy?
No. I’m not here to hard‑sell you on a specific camera or lens. I’ll share what I’ve actually used, what worked and what didn’t, and how I’d think about your situation so you can make your own decision with clearer information.
What kind of questions can I bring?
Anything gear‑related within my experience: Leica M and Q systems, film rangefinders, lens choices, switching between film and digital, building or simplifying a kit, and real‑world usage questions that don’t show up in spec sheets.
Where will the virtual meeting be held?
A Google Meet link will be sent to your email once your booking is confirmed.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, cancellations are possible, but we do require advance notice. If you need to cancel for personal reasons, you must provide at least 5 working days' notice in advance. A 10% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund. For example, if you booked the US$49 meeting, your refund would be US$44.1 after the admin fee.
