What happens if it rains?
Light rain won't stop us, in fact, it can create a unique, moody atmosphere that transforms how Hong Kong's neon lights reflect on wet streets. If light rain is forecast, I'll communicate with you in advance to discuss how it might enhance the workshop experience and confirm you're comfortable proceeding.
However, in the event of heavy rain, thunderstorms, or typhoons, we will reschedule the workshop or offer a full refund.
Can I rent a camera?
No, you'll need to bring your own camera. This ensures you're familiar with your equipment and can focus on learning rather than getting to know unfamiliar gear during the workshop.
Can I join the workshop using a smartphone camera?
Absolutely! Smartphone cameras are incredibly capable these days and can produce stunning night photography.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, you do. Tahusa is not liable for any costs associated with injury or accidents during the workshop time on the streets. Travel insurance protects you and gives you peace of mind as you explore Hong Kong's night streets.
Can my non-photographer partner or kids come along?
No, this is an intimate, focused learning experience designed for participants who are actively engaged in the workshop.
How can you help me develop my photography?
Throughout the workshop, I'll provide personalized guidance tailored to your interests, style, and experience level. I'll work with you to refine your night photography skills and pic teach practical techniques for improving your camera knowledge, understanding your lenses, and developing your photographic eye to capture compelling shots.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, cancellations are possible, but we do require advance notice. If you need to cancel for personal reasons, you must provide at least 5 working days' notice in advance. A 10% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund. For example, if you booked the US$539 workshop, your refund would be US$485 after the admin fee.
In the event of cancellation due to severe weather (as outlined above), a full refund with no deductions will be issued.
What should I bring?
Please bring a camera/photography device of your choice (DSLR, mirrorless, film, or smartphone), one or two lenses (a 35mm or 50mm prime lens is recommended if you have one), comfortable walking shoes, extra batteries, and memory cards or film. Dress appropriately for the weather and the streets, you'll be walking for 3 hours, so comfort is key.
