You can continue using the original Leica lens cap that comes with these lenses, this hood does not include a front cap.
Design & fit
Made from aluminium, the hood attaches securely and rotates following the original thread. Same as the original hood, there is no click‑stop or position lock.
The hood is designed to minimise vignetting, but if you are extremely sensitive to even slight corner darkening, this may not be the ideal choice for you.
Filter compatibility
The hood is designed to work with a UV or protective filter, though not all filter types will fit (shorter than 4.2mm). For the best fit, we recommend slim B+W, Hoya, Leica filters, or filters from our shop. It does not fit circular CPL or variable ND filters, or certain wider‑diameter filters (e.g. some K&F, Tiffen).
